Kathy Barthelt 0 20686 Article rating: 5.0

Transactions to be mapped - In the mapping scheme, you must define the ledger mapping and the dimension mapping for these types of transactions:

  1. Financial integration transactions resulting from logistic events in Operations Management.
  2. General Ledger transactions.
  3. Procurement card transactions in Accounts Payable.

Infor LX & BPCS Tip: Main Benefits of IDF?

Infor Development Framework

George Moroses 0 19637 Article rating: 5.0

The Infor Development Framework (IDF) re-architects the way a user interacts with the application, providing an efficient, task-oriented process to view application information that is contained within Infor LX. IDF enables users to configure their view of the application data without modifying the core application and its supportability.

The examples below describe how users can configure their display of data and maximize overall productivity:

  • Arrange application information into multiple groupings and sequences that make sense for the job.
  • Filter or hide records to show only the information that applies to the job or task that the user is performing.
  • Customize the information for an individual user, a group of users, or all users.

Infor LN & BaanTip: Restructuring Your Warehouse

Am I able to remove a warehouse location?

Kathy Barthelt 0 20263 Article rating: 5.0

You may want to restructure your warehouse with new bin codes and new bin characteristics. You will not undertake this kind of activity very often, but situations can occur where a reclassification is necessary to achieve or maintain a more efficient operation. In this case, you may want to remove a given warehouse location. It can be done, but you must be aware of the following:

A location cannot be removed if any of these conditions exist:

  1. Any outstanding inbound advice for the item.
  2. Any outstanding outbound advice for the item.
  3. Any unprocessed cycle counting order/adjustment order lines.
  4. Any cycle counting data.

Infor’s Intelligent Open Network (ION) technology easily integrates Infor ERPs and third-party enterprise systems. ION is an advanced middleware cloud platform that provides the flexibility you need to make the most complex web of enterprise systems work together on-premise, in the cloud, or both. ION’s long-term sustainability will optimize your ROI, and with ION, one application can be upgraded, replaced, or even fail without taking the entire network down.

Benefits:

  • Faster integration and upgrade times
  • Access to real-time information
  • Reduced burden on IT
  • Immediate access to business services like reporting and mobility

For older BPCS installations that don’t use ION, Crossroads RMC has the expertise to build powerful adapters to allow your specific BPCS version to communicate and exchange information with virtually any sub-system that can import/export data.

TECHNOLOGY: Facility Security Ranges

Previously, a user could complete the Cost Transfer (CST920) process for any range of facilities regardless of their security settings established in SYS600. This enhancement verifies the user security settings set up in SYS600 before processing cost transfers for a range of facilities in CST920. If the user has authority for a facility range, but there are facilities within that range that are not authorized, the program skips those facilities and completes the cost transfer process.

FINANCE: Expiration Date for Quotes and RMAs

A Cancel-by-Date has been added to the Quote Header and RMA Header panels. This optional field can limit how long a quote or authorization to return items for credit is valid.

For quotes, this enhancement provides an optional end date for the quote. For RMAs, it provides an optional date by which the customer must return the items to receive the credit listed on the RMA.

The Cancel-By-Date prints on the Order Acknowledgement and RMA Acknowledgement to inform the customer of this important limitation to the quote or return authorization.

An Order Entry user cannot copy the quote to create a new order if the Cancel By Date has caused the quote to expire.

OPERATIONS: Default Split Salesperson to Customer Orders

Sales commissions are based on combinations of the Primary, Split, and Line-Level salesperson and the commission codes defined for the customer and item. You can now define the Split Salesperson in the same master files as the Primary Salesperson. While the Primary Salesperson is mandatory, the Split Salesperson is optional. It defaults during Order Create using the identical hierarchy as Primary Salesperson. Using Split Salesperson provides more flexibility in the calculation of sales commissions. The ability to define a default Split Salesperson improves the accuracy of sales commission qualification and calculation and reduces maintenance and adjustments necessitated by corrections.

Tips: LN | Baan

Check-Ups are important… Including Infor LN & Baan ERP Check-Ups!

What would you say to someone if they never went to a doctor for a check-up, or never took their car in for regular maintenance, like an oil change?

You might say that they were asking for problems, right? The point of those check-ups is to catch a problem early, or better yet before it occurs. Going for check-ups gives you the peace of mind that things are running well and if an issue is identified early enough you can reduce overall risk. Regular check-ups can help reduce out-of-pocket expenses over time.

What about Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Company-wide Check-Ups for your Infor ERP system? What will happen if you NEVER hit pause?

Here are some questions by department to consider.

Finance:

  • Do I have the right visibility into our ERP data to be able to do proper financial planning, forecasting, and reporting?
  • Can I reduce the amount of time it takes to do a monthly close?
  • Is my ERP system covering all of my tax compliance requirements?
  • Are we losing money because we can’t track our costs accurately?
  • Do we understand why we do what we do?
  • Can we eliminate or streamline processes to become more efficient?

Manufacturing:

  • Is there a way to gain better real-time visibility into my operations?
  • Can we increase OEE?
  • Are we accurately capturing our time and labor on the shop floor?
  • Are we properly planning to maximize our production efficiency?
  • Do we understand why we do what we do?
  • Can we automate some of our processes to become more efficient?

Materials:

  • Do we have full visibility into our supply chain?
  • Is planning negatively impacted because of how we communicate with our suppliers?
  • Are we managing our inventory properly?
  • Are we able to fully analyze our sales in order to maximize profitability?
  • Do we understand why we do what we do?
  • Can we eliminate or streamline processes to become more efficient?

Company-wide:

  • How does data flow from one department to another?
  • Are we relying on outdated processes and procedures?
  • Do we understand why we do what we do?
  • Can we eliminate or streamline processes to become more efficient?
  • Are we making bad business decisions because one department doesn’t have access to real-time data or data from another department?
  • Are we losing money because we can’t track our costs accurately?
